Ensure your safety, the safety of your site and teammates when conducting inspections. All inspections of Shackles shall be conducted in accordance with the relevant standards.
Inspect all the components of the Shackles thoroughly
Mandatory Markings
Is the mandatory markings legible, correct and fit for continued service?
Body, Blank & Thread Hole
Is the body fit for continued service?
Pin
Is the pin the correct grade and fit for continued service?
What to look for
Bent, Corroded, Cracked, Cut, Deformed, Distorted, Gouged, Heat Damage, Nicked, Squashed, Twisted, Unreadable, Worn.
NOTE: Pay particular attention to the load points for signs of wearing
