Founded over 25 years ago in Yatala as a family business, Stenhouse Lifting Equipment has grown from humble beginnings into a leading provider of lifting solutions with four branches and a dedicated team of professionals. In May 2024, Stenhouse Lifting joined forces with Swedish industrial group, Axel Johnson International Lifting Solutions Group. This strategic move aims to strengthen their position in the Australian lifting sector, driven by a shared commitment to values and long-term vision.

Axel Johnson Lifting Solutions Group
Lifting solutions is a global group specializing in lifting equipment and services. The group has developed rapidly since the first acquisition in 2005. Today the business area brings together market-leading companies with +100 service centres world wide. Together, they serve clients in a wide range of industries, including offshore, renewable energy, shipping, automotive manufacturing, ports, fish farming, engineering, pulp and paper, mining, steel and other.
Though Lifting Solutions has a relatively short history, the group companies have a long heritage in the business and are well known and established in their local markets. Several have been around for more than a century. Together, they possess a vast resource of specialist knowledge in cranes, lifting and steel wire rope.
Our History
Eagle Farm – Due to ongoing client demand and our commitment to providing local service to all Southeast Queensland, we made the decision to open up our new branch at Eagle Farm in 2023.
Maryborough – After careful deliberation, we decided to relocate our Bundaberg branch to Maryborough in 2017 to improve our service delivery to the Wide Bay Region.
Wacol – With our strong and loyal client partnerships at Stenhouse, this drove the decision to expand, and in September 2009, our second branch was opened in Wacol.
Yatala – Launched in 1997, Stenhouse is proudly a third-generation family business. From day one, we have hand-picked our team for the attitude, skills and training our safety-critical work demands.
Our Legacy
Legacy 1966
Coast and Country Wire Ropes was founded by the Stenhouse family at Yallah NSW in 1966. Martins step-father brought 45 years of experience as Chief Rigger on numerous construction sites.
At the age of 15, Martin Stenhouse joined his three brothers in the business. With 30 years of industry experience, Martin, his wife and four sons opened Stenhouse Lifting & Safety Solutions in 1997.
