How to inspect before use
Ensure your safety, the safety of your site and teammates when conducting inspections. All inspections of Fall Arrest Blocks shall be conducted in accordance with the relevant standards.
Inspect all the components of the Fall Arrest Blocks thoroughly
Manufacturer Tag/Label
Is the manufacturer tag/label legible, correct and fit for continued service?
Body/Outer Case and Mechanism/s
Is the body/outer case and mechanism/s fit for continued service?
Webbing or Rope
Is the webbing or rope fit for continued service?
Fittings/Attachments & Fall Indicators
Are the fittings/attachments fit for continued service?
What to look for
Bent, Corroded, Cracked, Cut, Deformed, Distorted, Gouged, Heat Damage, Jammed, Nicked, Seized, Unreadable, Worn.
NOTE: Pay particular attention to the load indicator for signs of deployment.
